the month of January is always the coldest time of the year. Many tours have been canceled because of the weather. Water temperatures got down to 55 degrees forcing manatees to move to warmer areas. I have not seen a manatee on my guided kayak tours for a while. I am looking forward to spring when the Indian River Lagoon will come back to life with warmer temperatures. Many folks drive from Orlando to kayak with me and then spend the rest of the day at Cocoa Beach. A great way to have a beach get away.
